In brief

Originally opened as Vauxhall Station in 1837, Duddeston was the temporary terminus in Birmingham of the Grand Junction Railway. When Curzon Street opened as the permanent terminus in 1839, Vauxhall became a goods only station. Renamed to Vauxhall & Duddeston in 1889. It was hit by a bomb in 1941 during the Second World War and destroyed. It was eventually rebuilt in the 1950s. The line was electrified in 1966. Now on the Cross City Line and Chase Lines out of Birmingham New Street. Was renamed to Duddeston in 1974. The station is a convenient stop for visitors to the Birmingham Museum Collection Centre on Dollman Street.
